Season: 1st April – 20th October

The river Deele flows through the village of Convoy to reach the Foyle below Lifford. A good brown trout river and traditionally known as an excellent sea trout river from June onwards. The River Deele has a late run of salmon running from mid-August to early September. The most popular stretch of water is downstream of Convoy.  For season and day ticket information plus general information contact the Deele Angling Club who have the fishing rights for this river. Day tickets are available.

Best Times: Mid August - Early September (Salmon) April - October (Brown Trout) July - October (Sea Trout)
Methods: Mepps spinner or bait most popular on the river. Fly fishing not popular but some stretches suit.
Best Salmon Flies: Small Shrimp patterns such as: -Gary Dog -Currys Red -Allys Shrimp
Best Sea Trout Flies: -Teal Blue & Silver -Teal & Green Bibio -Black Pennell
