Irish Times Best Place to Holiday in Ireland 2022: Carlingford selected as finalist

Carlingford has been selected as one of five finalists in the Irish Times Best Place to Holiday in Ireland 2022 contest. 

At just over an hour’s drive away from Belfast and Dublin, Carlingford is a scenic wonderland offering mesmerising mountains, stunning valleys and so much more. Situated between the island’s two capital cities, it is the perfect getaway for those looking to visit an area of outstanding natural beauty.  

One of the main attractions is the Carlingford Lough Catchment area, which offers a wide range of fishing options for a variety of anglers, from trout fishing in the rivers and lakes to sea angling from the shore.
