Live River Data

Live river data is recorded data from the Roe, Finn, and Mourne rivers in the Foyle catchment. It is recorded in real-time via the STORM Freshwater Telemetry Programme.

Data, including temperature, depth, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and cloudiness, aids pollution monitoring and enhances conditions for recreational activities.

Key objectives include identifying threats to fish and ecosystems, informing the public, contributing to policy decisions, assessing pollution control, and spotting trends.

Calibrated routinely for accuracy, live river data helps our scientists understand ecosystems and links between water quality and events like fish kills. Continuous monitoring eliminates the need for frequent visits, improving planning by enabling real-time responses to environmental events.
