Fish Counter Programmes
Loughs Agency uses fish counter technology across multiple rivers in Foyle and Carlingford for effective fishery management. This data is vital, revealing the movements of adult and smolt salmonids. Counters track fish numbers; and their size can be determined by analysing signals over the counter boards. This technology plays a crucial role in monitoring and understanding salmonid populations, guiding informed decisions for the sustainable management of our rivers.

Clanrye
The Clanrye site is a 2-channel crump built into the original weir. The weir itself spans the breadth of the river at this location. The area was designed and laid out to encourage fish to migrate upstream through the fish pass.
