River fishing

Clanrye River

Carlingford Catchment | Clanrye River

Season: 1st March – 31st October

The Newry and Clanrye Rivers combine to flow through Newry city at the head of Carlingford Lough. It is a medium sized (5-20 metres) river with good brown trout fishing.  For most of its length it meanders through rich farmland.  Newry and District Angling Association control much of these waters and tickets are available.  This ticket will also cover the angling associations waters on McCourts Lake.
