Season:   1st Jan – 31st Dec (8am to dusk.  Closed Mondays and Tuesdays)
Species:  Rainbow Trout

Opened in May 2017, Ballyheather Trout Fishery comprises of two lakes – a 2 acre fly-only lake and a half acre bait fishing lake. There are plans to open a third lake for bait fishing in the near future.  The main lake has varied topography with an island and plenty of features. Benches and waste bins have been installed around the lake for the angler’s convenience. The lakes are stocked with rainbow and blue trout up to 9lbs and they respond well to Buzzers, Bibios, Black Pennels and Griffith’s Gnats (fished dry). There is a small lodge on site to shelter from any weather with free tea and coffee for customers plus snacks and a small selection of essential tackle for sale.  Large parties can be catered for if the owner is contacted in advance.  A Loughs Agency licence is required to fish at Ballyheather.

Address: Ballyheather Road, Strabane, BT82 0LB
