Salmon Ambassador programme starts in local schools

Date: 18/02/2022

Loughs Agency's Education Team are currently delivering the Salmon Ambassador programme with primary schools and national schools in the Foyle and Carlingford catchments.

So far, pupils have been learning about the amazing lifecycle of the Salmon, from their early beginnings as tiny eggs right through to the adult stage. During the Salmon Ambassador programme, which runs until May, pupils will learn about migration, habitat, pollution, food chains, and how our changing climate impacts these incredible aquatic creatures.

Loughs Agency is delighted to be delivering the Salmon Ambassador Programme to the following schools:

  • Soil Naomh Lorcán (Omeath)
  • Scoil Naomh Bríd (Omeath)
  • Nazareth House PS (Derry~Londonderry)
  • St Mary's National School (Stranorlar)
  • St Columbas PS (Newbuildings)
  • Drumrane PS (Dungiven)

Following the Government’s advice in relation to COVID-19, Loughs Agency has put in place a number of measures to maximise our capacity to continue to deliver our services as best we can.
