Loughs Agency staff to deliver talks at North West Angling Fair
This weekend sees the return of the North West Angling Fair to Melvin Sports Complex, Strabane, and Loughs Agency staff will be present at the event hosting a series of talks.
Rachel Scott, GIS Manager
Geographical Information Systems Manager Rachel Scott will present data collected by Loughs Agency and showcase how the Agency’s Geographical Information System is used for angling improvement projects.
Ciarán McGonigle, Acting Director of Aquaculture and Shellfisheries
Acting Director of Aquaculture and Shellfisheries, Ciarán McGonigle, will introduce the Agency’s Fisheries and Angling Improvement Strategy for Foyle and Carlingford, highlighting the Agency’s plans to advance angling and deliver improvements over the next ten years.
Sarah McLean, Head of Science
Loughs Agency’s Head of Science, Sarah McLean, will discuss how the Agency gathers scientific evidence to inform environmental management in the Foyle and Carlingford catchments.
Fearghail Armstrong, Fisheries Biologist
Fisheries Biologist, Fearghail Armstrong, will give an overview of the Agency’s electrofishing work across the Foyle and Carlingford catchments, discussing the EU Water Framework Directive electrofishing programme and the annual juvenile salmonid electrofishing programme.
Kelsie Geddis, Angling and Fisheries Improvement Manager
Angling and Fisheries Improvement Manager, Kelsie Geddis, will present the Agency’s Fisheries and Angling Strategy Action Plan, advising how the Agency plans to advance angling and deliver fishery improvements over the next ten years.
