The Foyle Area (Oyster Logbook and Identification Tagging) Regulations 2008 These Regulations—

(a) require every person using a dredge for the taking of oysters (Ostrea Edulis) to affix a tag to every oyster bag retained (Regulation 4);

(b) provide for the issue of tags to such persons (Regulation 5);

(c) provide for the removal of a tag which is affixed to an oyster bag only in specified circumstances (Regulation 6);

(d) prohibit the sale, export or transhipment at sea of any oysters (Ostrea Edulis) that have not been placed in a bag and a tag affixed to the bag (Regulation 6);

(e) prohibit the forging or alteration of tags (Regulation 6);

(f) prohibit the giving of false information to obtain a tag (Regulation 6);

(g) provide for the keeping of logbooks and the issue and return of such logbooks (Regulations 7 and 8).

The Foyle Area (Licensing of Oyster Fishing) Regulations 2008 These Regulations prohibit the dredging for oysters in the Foyle Area without a valid oyster fishing licence and prescribe the application procedure and fee for such licence.
The Foyle Area (Licensing of Oyster Fishing) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 These Regulations amend the Foyle Area (Control of Oysters) Regulations 2008 by increasing the minimum size of oyster that may be retained on board a vessel from 75mm to 80mm.
The Foyle Area (Landing Areas for Oysters) Regulations 2008 These Regulations specify the places at which the landings of oysters (Ostrea Edulis) may be made within the Foyle Area.
The Foyle Area (Control of Oyster Fishing) Regulations 2008 These Regulations provide for the control of oyster fishing within the Foyle Area.  They provide for the introduction of size limit of oysters that may be retained. They also provide for a daily fishing period, weekly fishing periods and annual close season for the taking of wild oysters, and prohibit the fishing of oysters in areas specified in aquaculture licences granted by the Commission. These Regulations also provide for a vessel named in an oyster fishing licence to display a licence number and allow the Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission to declare a period of suspension of oyster fishing in order to conserve and protect stocks.
The Foyle Area (Control of Oyster Fishing) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 These Regulations amend the Foyle Area (Licensing of Oyster Fishing) Regulations 2008 by prescribing new reduced licence fees.
