The past few years have seen a large number of wind farm applications received by Loughs Agency for comment. These include single turbine applications, which have been supported by renewables funding. Any issues in relation to water quality and fisheries habitat are largely associated with the construction phase of such developments. Loughs Agency reviews Environmental Statements for windfarm proposals with a focus on earthworks management, drainage, water quality and culvert design.
