Freshwater Fisheries Monitoring Programme

Loughs Agency is responsible for conserving, protecting and improving the salmon and inland fisheries of the Foyle and Carlingford areas.

To fulfil our obligations and meet business targets, we have developed a Freshwater Fisheries Monitoring Programme. Its aim is to develop and steer Loughs Agency policies.

The programme incorporates a variety of important long-term projects. These include:

 

All the long-term monitoring projects provide evidence that can be included in dynamic Loughs Agency management strategies.  We are continuing to develop the role that monitoring plays in our conservation and protection work.
