This Ambassador programme connects young people with the Foyle and Carlingford Loughs, their tributaries and wildlife through recreation, volunteering and conservation opportunities.
Using the John Muir Trust Award, we encourage our Ambassadors to discover more, explore more, conserve more and share more.
Since 2014, over 200 teenagers have graduated as Ambassadors with a greater understanding and respect for the watersheds that so many of us take for granted.
Ambassadors do not only build lasting connections with the catchments; they also develop lasting friendships with people from different backgrounds. The experiences they gain provide them with life skills through fun, friendship, and adventure. The Ambassador Programme has the potential to reach many more young people, creating a stronger community and inspiring everyone to love our waterways.
Summer programmes are delivered during July and August. We recruit for the programme through our website and social media. We are now recruiting schools to participate in our term time programme.
