Migillan Strand

On the east coast of Ireland, not far from the main road between Belfast and Dublin, the visitor will find Carlingford Lough, a sheltered inlet of the Irish Sea, flanked by the Mourne Mountains to the north and the mountains of the Cooley peninsula to the south.

In the northwest is Lough Foyle, a broad sea lough that has long been a haven from the ravages of the Atlantic Ocean. It nudges between the escarpment of Benevenagh mountain to the east and the Inishowen hills to the west.

The regions are each part of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, official recognition of scenic quality, and there is much to see and do along these shores: history and heritage; birdlife and other wildlife; beaches, sand dunes and sheltered flats; woods and forests; visitor attractions; walking and cycling; angling; watersports? !

Of course, another option is to sample the shopping delights of the regions towns and villages, discovering their heritage in the process ? the city walls of Londonderry, the quays and canals of Newry, the medieval town of Carlingford? !
