In March, the Loughs Agency had several succesful prosecutions concerning unlicenced angling on the River Roe

Fined £250 for fishing illegally and impeding a Fishery Officer

At a sitting of Limavady Magistrates Court on the 21st March 2012, a man from Limavady was given a fine for unlicensed angling and impeding a Fishery Officer on the River Roe in September of 2011.  Mr Darren Morrow of 26 Drumceatt Park, Limavady, was apprehended by a warranted Private Fishery Officer exercising powers under the Foyle Fisheries Act. The Judge fined Mr Morrow the sum of £250 and ordered him to pay court costs of £91.

£50 fine for unlicenced angling

At a sitting of Limavady Magistrates Court on the 21st March 2012, a man from Limavady was given a fine for unlicensed angling on the River Roe in September of 2011.  Mr Andrew Teague of 56b Dowland Road, Limavady, was apprehended by warranted Fishery Officers of the Loughs Agency.  The Judge fined Mr Teague the sum of £50 and ordered him to pay court costs of £91.

£75 fine for unclienced angling on the River Roe

At a sitting of Limavady Magistrates Court on the 21st March 2012, a man from Limavady was given a fine for unlicensed angling on the River Roe in July of 2011.  Mr Stephen Gurney of 56 Roeview Park, Limavady, was apprehended by warranted Fishery Officers of the Loughs Agency.  The Judge fined Mr Gurney the sum of £75 and ordered him to pay court costs of £91.
