Kayaking Kinnegoe Bay, Inishowen

Kayaking Kinnegoe Bay, Inishowen

The waters of both the Foyle and Carlingford catchments and sea areas offer the paddler plenty of scope for pursuing their sport - sea kayak, expedition, touring, surf... and even whitewater on the rivers!

The waters of both the Foyle and Carlingford catchments offer the paddler plenty of scope for pursuing their sport:-

  • sea kayaking on Lough Foyle or Carlingford Lough and along the Atlantic coastline of Inishowen and Benone Beach
  • kayak surfing at Benone and Culdaff
  • touring along the slower sections of the rivers that make up the Foyle system
  • tackling white water on the renowned Glenelly, Derg, Owenkillew or Mourne rivers (part of the Foyle system) or the aptly named Whitewater River that flows into Carlingford Lough
  • exploring the Newry Ship Canal
  • flat water canoeing on a lake
  • training and developing skills with one of the providers, many of which will also hire equipment and act as guides
