CALL FOR APPLICATIONS (2016)

The Loughs Agency opened their 2016 Sustainable Development Fund Programme on 25th January 2016, encouraging applications from the public, private, community and voluntary sectors for financial assistance to support angling development, conservation and protection of fisheries and marine tourism in the Foyle and Carlingford catchments.

Grant aid at a rate of 75% up to £7,500.00 available for eligible development projects with a further grant of up to £1,000.00 for events and festivals

The closing date for applications was 4:00pm Monday 29th February 2016.

Application solely by submission of the official application form by email or postal delivery or hand delivery to the Loughs Agency headquarters building. DATES AND DEADLINES

Completed application forms received at Loughs Agency headquarters by the above closing date to permit assessment. The Sustainable Development Fund may reopen again at a later date subject to budget availability and at the Agency’s absolute discretion. 

 


THEMES

The Loughs Agency seeking applications under the following themes:

SDF EVENTS - Funding of up to £1,000 (or euro equivalent) at up to 75% support.

SDF CAPITAL AND DEVELOPMENT - Funding of up to £7,500 (or euro equivalent) at up to 75% support.  Key themes for the capital and development programme include:

  • River access measures
  • Marine access measures
  • Accommodation improvements that will benefit Marine Tourism/Angling
  • New or improved marine/angling experiences
  • Training and skills development
  • Festival and events
  • Innovative enhancement / restoration to improve fish stocks
  • Events linked to the Foyle Maritime Festival with a marine or angling theme

 


ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The Agency assesses project applications against a predetermined scoring framework. Projects then ranked from highest scoring to lowest scoring and funding allocated on the basis of that prioritisation exercise.

Project scoring criteria includes (but not limited to) the following:

  • Projects must have a good potential to clearly benefit the Foyle and/or Carlingford areas.
  • Projects must have a definite focus on marine tourism and/or angling.
  • Projects must not have taken place before issue of Letter of Offer.
  • No more than two applications per applicant will be considered.
  • Funding will normally not exceed £7,500 (or euro equivalent) - £1,000 (or euro equivalent) for an event.
  • Funding will be at a level of up to 75% of total expenditure.
  • The Loughs Agency reserves the right to allocate funding at its absolute discretion to meet its priority of sustainable development of marine tourism and angling in the Foyle and Carlingford areas.
  • Public sector requirements apply for procurement (including quotes). Applicants should refer to the financial assistance policy.
  • Sustainable development must be evident.
  • Potential economic impact.
  • Projects must be such that they will aim to complete by November 2016.
